    Charles D. Steingas, EA, MSEA, MAAA

    Charlie is the chief actuary and founding member of Cash Balance Actuaries, LLC. After working for over 10 years on all types of retirement plans, Charlie decided he could better serve his clients by offering them the most personal service at more reasonable prices. To do that, he founded Cash Balance Actuaries, LLC in 2009 and grew the company from just himself to a firm with 23 employees and over 1,000 clients.  Now he is able to offer cutting edge retirement plan designs and personal service to help clients truly understand and appreciate their plans.

    Charlie graduated from Drake University with degrees in Actuarial Science and Finance. Since then he has become an enrolled actuary as well as a member of the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries.  He currently lives in Excelsior, MN with his wife and 4 kids, and enjoys playing, coaching, and watching basketball and baseball when he isn’t doing actuarial work.

    Crystal Chapman

    Crystal joined Cash Balance Actuaries in February of 2024 as an Executive Assistant.  She previously worked for over 14 years as a nanny, building her problem solving, time management and communication skills.  Crystal lives in Minnetonka with her husband.

    Todd Chrun, EA, MSEA

    Todd joined Cash Balance Actuaries in February of 2022. Todd has been working in the retirement plan industry since 2007 providing consulting, design, and annual administration on cash balance, traditional defined benefit, and retiree medical plans of all sizes.
     
    Todd graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Actuarial Science. He became an Enrolled Actuary in 2014 and recently became a member in the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries.
  • Kimberly A. Corona, EA, MSEA, FCA, MAAA

    Kimberly A. Corona, EA, MSEA, FCA, MAAA

    Kim joined Cash Balance Actuaries at the beginning of April 2017.  She worked on her first cash balance design and valuation spreadsheet in 1999 as an actuarial assistant and since then has serviced all types of qualified retirement plans in the micro-size plan market.  Kim has developed her skills in marketing, plan design, advanced nondiscrimination testing, ongoing administration, and plan termination strategies with an emphasis on meeting each client’s individual goals at each stage.
     
    Kim has a B.S. in General Mathematics from Arizona State University, an Enrolled Actuary designation, Fellowship in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and is a Member of the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.  She volunteers on various actuarial and retirement plan committees as time permits.  When not engaged in actuarial tasks, Kim enjoys gardening and finding places without cell phone reception to hike, read and spend time with family.
  • Kyle W. Crump

    Kyle W. Crump

    ​Kyle joined Cash Balance Actuaries as an Actuarial Associate in July of 2013. Kyle has more than 3 years of experience in defined benefit plans. Since entering the pension plan world, his primary focus has been on designing, administering, and consulting on both traditional defined benefit and cash balance pension plans.
     
    Kyle graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a degree in Communications in 2006. He obtained his Masters of Actuarial Science from Middle Tennessee State University in 2011. He has currently passed two actuarial exams and one of the three Enrolled Actuary exams.
  • James F. Feuerbach, EA, MSEA, QPA

    James F. Feuerbach, EA, MSEA, QPA

    Jamie joined Cash Balance Actuaries in December 2012 and has nearly twenty years of actuarial consulting and administrative experience. He consults on and designs different types of qualified plans, with a special passion for creating optimal plan designs using a combination of defined benefit (including cash balance) and defined contribution plans to accomplish his client's savings objectives.

    Jamie graduated from SUNY - Geneseo with a degree in management (finance concentration). Since then, he has earned designations from the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries, and the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries.

  • Heather Harmeyer

    Heather Harmeyer

    Heather joined Cash Balance Actuaries in 2021. In addition to over 18 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, she also brings 4 years of experience as an advanced level high school mathematics teacher. This teaching experience has honed Heather's ability to present complex retirement plan concepts in a comprehensible and digestible way to her clients. Although she specializes in traditional defined benefit and cash balance plans, her experience also includes consulting on 401k and combo plan arrangements.
     
    Heather graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and completed a Masters degree in Teaching in 2015. She earned the QKA designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries in 2020 and has passed several Enrolled Actuary exams.
     
    In her free time, Heather can be found playing duplicate bridge or spending time with her 2 year old rescue pup walking or practicing agility.
  • Cami Harris, EA, MAAA, MSEA

    Cami Harris, EA, MAAA, MSEA

    Cami joined Cash Balance Actuaries in April 2022 with 8 years of experience in the small Cash Balance Plan market.  After 18 years as a secondary mathematics and choir teacher and passing two actuary exams, she changed careers.  She has been working with combined 401(k) and Cash Balance plans ever since.  
     
    Cami graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and later, a Master of Science degree in Information and Communication Sciences. She earned her Enrolled Actuary credentials in December of 2021 and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

    Paul Hufstetler, EA, MAAA, MSEA, QPA

    Paul joined Cash Balance Actuaries in April of 2023.  Paul has been working in the retirement plan industry since 2013.  He has spent most of that time focused on cash balance plans and other plans for small businesses.  Paul also has experience working with traditional pension plans.

    Paul graduated from Grove City College with a degree in Finance.  He earned the Qualified Pension Administrator designation in 2015 and the Enrolled Actuary designation in 2019.  He is a member of the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.  Paul lives in Canton, Ohio with his wife, son, and daughter.

    Adam joined Cash Balance Actuaries in January of 2018.  Adam has been working in the retirement plan industry since 2013.  He has experience working with traditional defined benefit and cash balance plans, from plan design to all annual work and governmental filings required.

    Adam Graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelors degree in Actuarial Science.  Adam passed his last actuarial exam in 2019 and has earned his Enrolled Actuary designation.

    Cortany joined Cash Balance Actuaries in March of 2023. Cortany graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in 2012.  Her primary concentration was Forensic Science and she minored in Criminal Justice.  Cortany loves to travel and spend time with her husband and three children.

    Will is a Partner and is the Chief Marketing Officer for Cash Balance Actuaries, LLC. Will has been in the retirement industry since 2007 and became an actuary in 2014. Will’s primary focus is to help strengthen and develop new relationships with Financial Advisors, CPA’s, and Third Party Administrators providing solutions to their clients who are looking for a larger tax deduction than a solo 401(k) can provide.     Nicole L. Kovac, QKA, QPA

    Nicole joined Cash Balance Actuaries in January of 2018 with 10 years of experience in the retirement plan industry.  Her experience includes plan design and annual administration for traditional and cash balance plans along with defined contribution plans. 
     
    Nicole graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. She also earned designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals.

    Shannon has been with Cash Balance Actuaries since 2014 doing work as an administrative assistant. Shannon graduated from James Madison University. She's a mother of two in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

    Joe joined Cash Balance Actuaries in June of 2021. He graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2007 with a B.S. in Mathematics.

    Paul J. Marszalek

    Paul joined Cash Balance Actuaries as Chief Operating Officer in January of 2012. Paul has over 25 years of experience as a retirement plan consultant. His ability to produce high quality, accurate work, combined with his great communication skills made him a perfect addition to the CBA team.

    Paul graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mathematics from the Institute of Technology.

    Joe Moll, QPA, QKC, QKA

    Joe joined Cash Balance Actuaries in May of 2024.  He has been in the industry since 2021, working primarily on consulting and administration of Defined Contribution and Cash Balance Plans.

    Joe graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2021. He has also received designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

    Kevin J. Morris, EA, MSEA

    Kevin joined Cash Balance Actuaries as a reviewing Actuary in December of 2014. Kevin brings with him over 20 years of experience in cash balance and defined benefit plans specializing in the small plan market. He excels in the design and implementation of plans for small businesses looking to maximize their retirement savings and provide for their employees’ future.

    Kevin graduated from California Sate University at Fresno with a degree in Applied Mathematics.  He is a member of the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries.

    Cedric T. Rohwedder, ASA, EA, MAAA, MSEA

    Cedric Rohwedder joins Cash Balance Actuaries with over 25 years of consulting and project management experience. As an actuarial consultant, he assists our clients on all aspects of design, implementation, and administration. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the American Society of Enrolled Actuaries.

    Before joining Cash Balance Actuaries, Cedric was an actuarial consultant for several prominent benefit consulting and financial service firms located in Illinois and California. He also served as a contracted consulting actuary for several companies including Charles Schwab and The Clorox Company.

    He has consulted with sole proprietorships to Fortune 500 companies. With that experience and knowledge, Cedric will guide you through the process of developing a short- and long-term retirement benefit strategy that will allow him to design and implement an individually constructed retirement plan tailored to your specific needs.

    Cedric holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from California State University.

    Ryan Romeo

    Ryan joined Cash Balance Actuaries in January 2022 with 11 years of experience in the retirement plan industry. He specializes in the design and administration of Cash Balance, Traditional Defined Benefit, and Defined Contribution Plans.

    Ryan graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Mathematics in 2009 and has passed the first two actuarial exams.
